  • Way to use your IPOD and/or other music players
  • Remotes for your toys
  • Booster antennas
  • Speakers that will blast the neighborhood
  • Amplifiers that help the speakers do their blasting
  • Subwoofers that help all of the above

Ipod and portable MPR music player accessories

All you need to do is just plug in your IPOD into your CD player unit and you are now experiencing your own music. There are some CD players now that have an IPOD support built in and can even access ITUNES.

Remote controls

And you can't have the IPOD player without the wireless remote control. These are not as pricey as you might think either; they are only around $10 to $20, depending on the quality and how well you bargain shop.

As you may not know, the wireless remote will allow you to operate your stereo from a distance from the car. Even if your CD player does come with a remote, it wouldn't be a bad idea to have an extra for a back up…they are easily lost inside your car.

Speakers

There are many types and varieties of speakers. They come in all sizes, styles and particular output ratings. This is when you don't want to shop the generic brands. The better brands are known for a better sound and quality. Most of us will be happy though, with a good mid-range system, no need to go for the most expensive for a good quality sound.

Speakers for the front of a car are typically 6" x 9" in size, are typically round and fit into the front doors. The brands you want to look at are Alpine, Blaupunkt, Kenwood, Jensen, Pioneer and Sony. They all make good speakers in this size.

Subwoofers

The typical car owner is not looking to shake the neighborhood with his speakers, but just have a good bass sound that will enhance your music.
There are several types of subwoofers to choose from. In our car care tips; we want you to know how they can be purchased and which will be best for your tastes and needs. There is a component subwoofer that is just the speaker by itself, then there is a pre-made subwoofer that is enclosed in a box and you can buy it as a single unit or in a set of two. These can be placed in the trunk of your car. Make sure your subwoofer is carefully matched to the quality of your speakers and have a good amplifier.

Amplifiers

Now that you have your speakers and subwoofer picked out, it is time to pick out a great amplifier. Now here again, our car care tips are going to help you in this very important decision.

Most car owners will want a simple amplifier, while the real music lovers will want to look into not only a amplifier, but into an equalizer, crossover or may even want to use multiple amps.

A good amplifier will amplify your sound to greater volumes and give you a much clearer sound. They also give your more control over the output of your speakers, even more so when you have a high quality head unit installed.

The brands to look for in an amplifier are Alpine, JBL, Clarion and Kenwood. These all make excellent amplifiers and they come in a mid to high quality range. They can range in price anywhere from $100 up to $2000.

Again, our car care tips has come through again in giving you some great tips where it comes to your sound system for your car. If you still have questions, go to a car audio shop and talk to a specialist there. They will be able to give you more specific advice and information.
