Challenger Parts- Not Easily Available

by Tom S Powers

The Dodge line of vehicles has long been a successful part of the Daimler Chrysler company. Dodge has distinguished itself in the world of racing with some excellent race cars. Not only has it provided quality products for races, it has done the same with the cars, pickup trucks, 4-door sedans, and heavy-duty vehicles that ordinary people use. The Dodge production line has a good reputation for producing consistently high quality cars and trucks down through the years.

The Dodge brothers realized the profitable benefits of manufacturing cars so in due time they soon started with their own auto company. The vehicles proved to be commercially successful until such time that the Dodge brothers' rule over the business ended up as the company has been bought and turned over to Chrysler Corporation.

Now being a part itself of Daimler Chrysler Company Dodge cars continue to flaunt the features it so prides itself. Among the bestsellers are Dodge Avenger, Challenger Parts, Viper, Stratus, Neon, Ram, Intrepid, Sprinter, Dakota, Magnum, and more. Needless to say, Dodge continues to create and roll out cars which uphold the virtues of a real hot car maker. Getting hold of a Dodge vehicle is like getting the ride of your life.

Dodge was the last manufacturer to enter the pony car division in the United States market. But everyone can say that Dodge has wisely spent their time in crafting their entry excellently - the Dodge Challenger. Released by the Dodge, a division of Chrysler Corporation, the Challenger was well-appreciated by the car enthusiast and the buying public. Though it was strongly based on Plymouth Barracuda's new E-body, its wheelbase is two inches bigger and it received a different sheet metal.

The Dodge Challenger sold 80,000 cars in 1970, the first year that it was available. Despite the sales success, the Dodge Challenger received a significant amount of criticism from the automotive press. It also had the misfortune to come out just when the pony car market was dying, and as a result the Challenger was produced for just five years. Production of the Dodge Challenger ended after the 1974 model year, with a total of 165,000 units sold from 1970 to 1974.

The Dodge Challenger arrived with an array of engine options. The well-known Dodge Challenger Trans-Am is a Challenger model which was produced in 1970 only. It was a racing homologation vehicle that was powered with a specially tuned Six-Pack version of the 340 cubic inch (5.6L) engine. Challenger T/A displays a fiberglass lift-off hood that has a big giant hood scoop and "megaphone" exhaust outlets which are installed in front of its rear wheels.

Throughout the model year of 1971, Dodge Challengers are available as either hardtop convertibles or coupes. The performance model, known as the R/T or Road/Track, is available in both body styles. The options were a limited slip differential, engines, steeper rear axle ratios, manual transmission, leather seats, shaker scoop, vinyl roof, and a smaller "formal" rear window. The 08-09 Challenger has relaunched; however, these new Dodge parts are not easy to come by.

Racing vehicles and heavy duty trucks are among the points of pride that Dodge is known for. As part of the Daimler Chrysler Company, Dodge's race vehicles are well cared for. When it comes to racing, Dodge has been in the spotlight a number of times, proving they are one of the best choices to leave competitors in the dust. Over its short lifespan, the Dodge Challenger sold 165,000 units by the time it was discontinued in 1974. Now, the line of challenger parts, including the 08-09 parts challenger, has been re-introduced. But these new challenger dodge parts are still hard to find.
